Manage keys programmatically

Programmatically generate, revoke, or modify API keys.

  • For example, if you wanted to have customer-facing analytics in your app, Access Keys would allow individual customers to see their own data without exposing anyone else’s data.
  • Access Keys can also restrict where a user can send data or automatically include other data properties.
  • If you’re looking to white-label your embedded analytics with Keen’s visualization tools,  Access Keys help you maintain compliance and ensure that a given customer only sees data related to their account.

Role-based access control (RBAC)

Guarantee each of your users can only explore the data they need, with completely customizable permission tiers. Keys can be used to grant access to particular data points or the results of particular queries.

  • API Keys have access rules that can restrict access to data based on arbitrary properties like CustomerID or PaymentPlan.
  • Create keys that can only see various computed results, and limit a key down to the results of specific queries.
  • Support tiered product offerings by allowing various levels of data access.

“The biggest thing we were looking for was flexibility—the ability to collect data from any interaction on any media property. We needed control over how we were collecting and analyzing our data.”
